Rules to Drive Safely at Night

At night, you have to be extra careful with the road and traffic as poor visibility can lead to accidents. As per various past researches, the number of road accidents that has happened at night are almost three times more than those happened during day light. And with a little care and precautions, night driving hassles can be reduced.
We have listed some of the very basic points that you would have observed them in daily life but never took them seriously. So try and follow these points to make your driving a fun at night:
· First of all you have to confirm if the headlights, tail-lights, signal lights of your car are working fine. Maintain them by regular cleaning and testing.
· Avoid using high beams in city traffic.
· At night your car should be visible to the traffic to avoid any possible accident.
· Adjust your rear view mirror as the vehicle behind you could be throwing strong light reflection straight to your eyes.
· Avoid looking at headlights of vehicles coming from opposite direction, as it will reduce your visibility.
· Always keep the windshield and windows dirt free for a clear front, back and side views.
· Avoid rash driving or high speed driving as it reduces your reaction time to control your car during emergency situations leading to an unavoidable accident.
· Take small breaks after few hours of continuous night driving to give some relief to your body, eyes and mind.
· Don’t drink and drive as this is against the traffic laws of any country you live in.
· Drive at an average speed and maintain your distance with other cars.
· Avoid smoking while driving as this effects your concentration on road
· If there is a breakdown situation during night hour, it’s very much advisable to turn on parking lights. Park your car with triangular refractor positioned as a sign of a breakdown for other drivers to notice.
· Maintain good temperament while driving. This can help you to drive better.
